THE CHECKPOINT YEARS

Back in 1999 I met Ralph Oderwald, who calls himself The Phenomenon, and who really is a phenomenon. Just for fun we sometimes took our guitars and jammed and also recorded that stuff. Later we lost contact somehow but when I began to search for people to form my own band, I remembered him and asked him if he wants to join the band as a guitarist.

In 2006 we found a drummer and began initial Checkpoint rehearsals. Around a year later, the drummer left the band and I remembered Chris Mory who I played with during my time with Mental Grip. As Mental Grip had just split, he gladly accepted and took over the drums at Checkpoint.

Together with Steve Hochstrasser on Saxophone and Simon Charczuk on Keyboards, we have built up a line-up which is really harmonizing. Gigs are planned but the playlist is yet too small. Anyway: Watch out, we're soon going to hit the stages!
